About Us
Located in the historic Boardwalk Condo building
Our building has been home to a variety of different businesses over the years. The original inhabitant was the Berkey and Gay furniture company in 1892. After finally declaring bankruptcy in 1948, Berkey and Gay were forced to close down. In 1999, the owner of Pioneer Construction led a $35 million rehabilitation project of the massive former factory into "The Boardwalk Building" that exists today. It currently features five floors worth of condo/apartments, a restaurant space, multiple office spaces, a gym, a salon, a massage therapist office, a clubhouse/game room and a laundromat. Our restaurant space has previously been home to both Waterworks Restaurant & Pub and JD Reardon's.
Newly redesigned and renovated, Brickyard Tavern opened in the spring of 2019. Ever since, we have prided ourselves in our delicious food and craft cocktails. We have live music on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We host trivia every Wednesday night. In the summer, we offer outdoor seating on our beautiful, expansive patio that is unlike anywhere else in Grand Rapids!

Our General Manager

Brickyard is one of Grand Rapids' hottest up-and-coming restaurants thanks in part to Chef Linsey. She takes pride in our menu to make sure every dish is cooked to an ambitious standard. She has brought our cuisine to new levels with her carefully-crafted brunch menu. Beloved by all of the Boardwalk residents, Linsey ensures everyone's dietary restrictions are considered while also allowing everyone the privilege of tasting our bold and unique flavors that come from years of training and experience. Starting at Brickyard as a line cook, she has worked her way up to earn her title through hard work and dedication to her craft.
